Classes have been good. They are long, not really.... I think I just haven't completely gotten over the jet lag and the heat so after class this week I've been exhausted and came home and laid down. London we got to meet everybody and do some "ice breakers". Lauren is from Kentucky but went to College of Charleston, Nico is from Argentina, but moved to Minnesota and basically grew up there. Nicola is from London and Analia is from Bahia Blanca which is South of Buenos Aires. Instead of Michelle teaching us stuff in English and making it very very repetitive we started Afrikaans. Afrikaans is a language spoken in South America. It was so difficult and frustrating, but at the same time when I came back to class the next day, everything had soaked in and I understood it. So now I understand all the repetition.
I've been talking to Micaela more and her friend Jimena. Micaela is the girl I met on the plane. I think the 3 of us are going to try and do something this weekend. I think also that our class is going to get together one day and do something just so we can get to know each other better. There is something called Spanglish that is described as speed dating but it really isn't. You are paired up with someone who speaks Spanish and you talk in only Spanish for 5 minutes and only English for 5 minutes and then switch people. I think it will be a great way to make friends and learn some more Spanish.
I'm pretty excited! Other than getting lost for 2 hours today, everything is finally falling into place! I can't tell you the last time I was this happy! :) And like I told you before.... this blog isn't going to be very exciting!!!
